This paper describes how the CorreLog DAM Agent for z/OS, in conjunction with the CorreLog SIEM Correlation Server (or any SIEM console), may be used to integrate real-time Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) into a corporate Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution.
Database security is a key component for PCI DSS, Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, Graham-Leach-Bliley (GLB), FISMA, and many other standards. And DB2 is the database standard on z/OS where much of the world's financial transactions take place. This paper highlights how dbDefenderTM from CorreLog manages DAM, "watching" z/OS facilities such as privileged user monitoring, invalid access attempts, creation/deletion of system-level objects, and many other security-related activities linked to DB2.
